My mother used to claw at me and grab me by the ears
She said, "You little parasite, why can't you disappear?"

But I don't want to bore you with the story of my life
My feckless, fumbling father and his wretched, clinging wife
That awful hallway carpet, all that plain domestic strife

Let's simply say I learned how to make my own way

I do not need the television; I am quite complete
I think I shall refrain from catching colds out in the street
I like it in my kitchen, though I can't bear carving meat

If I got any meaner
